Possible to measure consistent with the first installation. Used ASTM A479 Stainless steel 316 for straight type of fittings.  The two ferrules separate sealing and tube gripping functions : each ferrule is optimized for its function. The front ferrule creates a seal : against the fitting body, on the tubing outside diameter. As the nut is turned, the back ferrule : axially advances the front ferrule, radially applies an effective tube grip.

 1. Fully insert the tube into the fitting and against the shoulder; rotate the nut finger-tight. 2. Mark the nut at the 6 o’clock position. 3. While holding the fitting body steady, tighten the nut one and one-quarter turns to the 9 o’clock position. |
